'Meet & Greet' Guide

Last updated on 04 Nov, 2025

After you've applied to a Members job post, Members can request a 'Meet & Greet' with you, through Kynd.

This is generally a complimentary (unpaid) opportunity to get to know each other.

If unavailable or if not right for you, you can politely decline.

It's a perfect chance to share info to see if you're a good fit together.

Think of this as a two-way interview!

Sometimes a family member or Support Coordinator might join you.

Reply to Messages

After you've applied to a Member's job post, the Members can message you, ask questions and request a Meet & Greet.

You can then send and receive chat messages with the Member through Kynd.

Before any Meet & Greet, we highly recommend asking more questions via messages.

This will help ensure it's worth you both investing the time to learn more!

Good questions include:

  • What support and services do you need?

  • Tell me about the person needing support?

  • What are their likes/dislikes? Unique needs?

  • What exact days and times are you seeking?

  • Are you looking for one-off or ongoing support?

  • Anything you must know? ie. Pets at home

This helps you understand a Member's needs better. If you learn that you won't be the right person, you're able to politely cancel the Meet & Greet - and save you both time.

Successful Meet & Greets

Here are our tips for successful Meet & Greets:

  • Always arrive on time

  • Bring your ID and docs (Worker ID / certificates) - it builds trust

  • Relax and be yourself! Meet & Greets aren't meant to be too formal

  • Prepare questions to ask. Learn about any specific support needs

  • Be ready to answer questions. Know your exact current availability

Your goal is to answer if you're mutually a good fit and set up a plan.

Good questions for Meet & Greets include:

  • Tell me more about the support you're looking for?

  • What goals would you like me to help with?

  • What might a typical day be like together?

  • What do good days look like? And bad days?

  • What has or hasn't worked well in the past?

  • Any unique skills you think I'll need to learn?

  • Any potential safety issues to know about?

  • Do you like to train your team in your ways?

  • Who will be organising your Visits in Kynd? (ie. Themselves or any Support Coordinator)

  • What exact days and times are you seeking?

And finally...

  • What final questions might you have for me?

  • Do you think we'd be a good fit for each other?

  • Would you like to progress and set up visits?

It's also worth discussing your hourly rates. You might wish to discuss your plans about days / nights and different booking rates (ie. Mon-Fri, Sat, Sun, Public Holidays).

After the Meet & Greet

Members are able to book one-off or repeating bookings on the website or app.

You're then on your way - congrats!
